This couple fell in love with the picturesque manor and green space around Parkwood Estates in Oshawa and knew they wanted their wedding to take place there. However, there was an issue; the afternoon times slots had already been booked. So Katy and Matt made lemonade out of lemons by having their ceremony at 12pm and then went out for lunch at their favourite sushi restaurant before the reception started at 5pm. How often do you get to see a bride and groom and their wedding party at a sushi restaurant on their wedding day? It was such a blast photographing these two as they were super glam and stunning one minute and then silly and laughing the next…just like they are in real life. I just love capturing the true personalities of my couples on their wedding day and we did just that with these two. Here are a few of my faves from Matt & Katy’s stunning Parkwood Estate wedding.
About Parkwood Estate:
“The Parkwood Estate, located in Oshawa, Ontario, was the residence of Samuel McLaughlin (founder of General Motors of Canada) and was home to the McLaughlin family from 1917 until 1972. The residence was designed by noted Toronto architectural firm Darling and Pearson, construction starting in 1916. In 1989, the Parkwood Estate was officially designated a National Historic Site,[1][2] and tours are now given year-round.”
