I was honoured to photograph Lauren and Ryan’s wedding in Woodbridge, Ontario at Chateau Le Jardin last year. So when I heard that Lauren was expecting, I was beyond excited to have her over to do her maternity photographs. Lauren was open to whatever I had in mind, so I decided to do a mix of outdoors and studio, as long as my model was going to be warm enough. We got a beautiful sunny day with cool temps but totally manageable. So we started outside in Ajax, Ontario near Carruthers Creek Conservation Area, capturing some beautiful soft images that replicate the look of film. I have been playing around with fine art edits lately, so Lauren and I worked together and came up with some timeless looks that could translate to a Renaissance inspired painted portrait and 1920s film portraiture. I had such a blast. We ended the session off with some soft, and natural shots, giving her folio a diverse look and feel. Thanks so much Lauren, you were such a trooper out in the woods with me and then helping me create some art in studio, it was such a treat working with you. I can’t wait to meet the little man…5 weeks and counting.
Life is beautiful. Capture it.
