Casa Loma Wedding

Old Mill Wedding Reception

Toronto Wedding Photographer

We were blessed with such a beautiful spring day for this Casa Loma wedding in Toronto, Ontario. Sagari was absolutely breathtaking in her strapless lace gown designed by Allure Bridals from Ferre Sposa in Toronto. I absolutely loved the pale mint and pink palette she chose for her bridesmaids dresses and flowers. The muted tones gave such a look of classic elegance to the day which was complemented by the timeless backdrop of Casa Loma. This was my second time shooting a wedding at Casa Loma and it never fails to impress me with its architectural elements which provide numerous opportunities for stunning photos…especially when you consider that I studied its architecture in my undergrad at The University of Toronto. Here is a small blurb from Wikipedia on the architecture of Casa Loma.

Casa Loma (Spanish for Hill House) is a Gothic Revival style house and gardens in midtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that is now a museum and landmark. It was built as a residence for financier Sir Henry Mill Pellatt. Casa Loma was constructed from 1911 to 1914. The architect was E. J. Lennox,[1] who designed several other city landmarks.

In 1903, financier Henry Pellatt purchased 25 lots from developers Kertland and Rolf. Pellatt commissioned architect E. J. Lennox to design Casa Loma with construction beginning in 1911, starting with the massive stables, potting shed and Hunting Lodge (a.k.a. coach-house) a few hundred feet north of the main building. The Hunting Lodge is a two-story 4,380-square-foot (407 m2) house with servants’ quarters. As soon as the stable complex was completed, Sir Henry sold his summer house in Scarborough to his son and moved to the Hunting Lodge. The stables were used as a construction site for the castle (and also served as the quarters for the male servants), with some of the machinery still remaining in the rooms under the stables.” Taken from – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_Loma#History

Here is a sneak peek from Sagari and Chris’ May wedding. Wishing this beautiful couple a lifetime of happiness together, it was such an honour to capture your special day.

Life is beautiful. Capture it.
