Lakeside maternity session – Ajax maternity photographer – Laurel Leaf Photography

I met this beautiful young woman at a charity event I was photographing and immediately knew I wanted to photograph her. She was a volunteer who had come from a local maternity home to help raise funds for a beloved animal’s veterinary bills. I loved Felicia’s red hair and I envisioned her in a long flowing dress with a wreath of flowers out amongst beautiful long grasses (which we made a reality). We got to chatting and I asked if she would model for maternity photos closer to her due date seeing as she was only 5 months pregnant at the time and she agreed.

I arrived to pick her up for the shoot 4 months later on a warm August evening and she was absolutely glowing – so gorgeous. I didn’t know it at the time but as we got to chatting, I soon discovered that she was even more beautiful on the inside. Felicia has overcome some major setbacks in her life and risen above numerous hardships. At the age of 17 Felicia gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, but with the help of an incredible maternity home she is continuing her education and will be moving to her own place in the spring. Felicia, you inspire me with your strength and I am lucky to have met you. Keep up the amazing work, I know you will achieve your dreams.
